haugh farm - winsley
in 1998, the property was redesigned by the owner-architect by changing the use of the previous agricultural barn into residential use and the original farmhouse was remodelled and restored. the roof was overhauled, insulated and re-tiled and the barn section of roof was renewed over four existing oak trusses with new green oak purlins and softwood rafters.
later on, planning permission and listed buildings consent was approved for the extension of the single storey kitchen and minor associated alterations at haugh farm.
internally, the space provides an improved family kitchen that meets contemporary lifestyle requirements and creates a space that is in better balance in terms of scale with the rest of the house.
